Current Research Focus:

To improve knowledge about soybean-rust interaction by identifying Transcription Factor (TF) genes involved in plant resistance (TF genes regulated by rust infection in susceptible or partially resistant cultivars), confirming the involvement of these genes in the soybean defense pathway by transient over and down-expression using a VIGS vector, and characterizing the fungal invasion in planta in susceptible, resistant, and genetically modified plants.
