1996- BSc (Ag): TamilNadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, India.

1998- MSc (Ag): With specialization in Crop Physiology, TamilNadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, India – Research on Physiological and Biochemical mechanisms of TGMS in rice.

2005- Ph.D (Agriculture with specialization in Crop Physiology): International Rice Research Institute(IRRI) with TamilNadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, India- Research on comparative Physiology of Rice and Wheat under drought.

Current Research Focus:

Currently involved in evaluating transgenic rice overexpressors for selected candidate genes for drought tolerance. My long term goals are to understand the Physiology and Molecular Biology of root and whole plant adaptation under drought while also trying to learn how best to conduct meaningful physiological screenings for drought response in crop plants.
