A post-doctoral position is available immediately at the Soybean Genomics and Biotechnology Laboratory at the University of Missouri. The successful candidates will work on genetic engineering of soybean for stress tolerance genes and yield improvement. The post-doctoral fellow will be responsible for gene cloning, vector construction, and soybean transformation for expressing various target genes and to perform molecular and biochemical characterization of the transgenic soybean plants. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in molecular biology, plant biology or a related discipline. The candidate must have proven experience in the field of legume transformation techniques and transgenic analysis. Experience in multiple gene cassette assembly, promoters and pathway engineering is desirable. Familiarity with various bioinformatics tools and genome data mining is a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative research environment are essential.
